Electrical Engineer
Description
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer supports electrical engineering design, analysis, and project coordination activities for construction and infrastructure projects in support of Beale Air Force Base. This is an onsite position located at Beale AFB, California. The position assists with the development of engineering solutions related to electrical power distribution, transmission systems, substations, generators, lighting, and fire alarm systems. The Electrical Engineer will also support cost estimating, design reviews, and technical coordination to ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical engineering support for construction and infrastructure projects.
- Assist in the design, analysis, and evaluation of electrical systems including power distribution, transmission systems, substations, generators, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Support preparation and review of electrical design documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop and support construction cost estimates using tools such as RSMeans, PACES, E4Clicks, or equivalent cost estimating software.
- Conduct design reviews and support submittal reviews to ensure compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams, engineers, and stakeholders to support project planning and execution.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), IEEE standards, and National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70).
- Provide technical support during project planning, design, and construction phases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience supporting electrical engineering work related to construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing construction cost estimates using RSMeans, PACES, E4Clicks, or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards, and National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70).
- Experience supporting electrical systems such as power distribution, transmission systems, substations, generators, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Ability to support design reviews, submittal reviews, and technical coordination activities.
Preferred Certifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT).
- NFPA familiarity or training.
- OSHA 30 Hour Construction certification or equivalent.
