Corporate Citizenship is a core value at SD Solutions, LLC and we are passionate about creating Educational and Employment Opportunities in Rural and Underutilized Business Zones. As a good community partner, SD Solutions, LLC has created Annual Scholarship Award in 2013 for aspiring high school seniors from low-income neighborhoods in the country. We work with high schools to provide scholarship awards towards college education. Our selection criteria include GPA, Volunteering Activities, Citizenship Skills, Teacher References, Financial background and an Essay. We also help the schools with funds to purchase books for the library, arrange for students site visit to the industry, tech/career counseling.

In addition, we created a tutoring program to hire paid teaching assistants to teach students to help improve their grades, SAT scores and assist teaching staff with tasks related to curriculum.

Here are a few highlights of our positive influence and the commitment to help the community with education and employment. To date, over 60 students from HUBZone have benefitted from Scholarships, Part-Time jobs and hundreds of students have received Presentations on Depression.

2021

May: SD Solutions, LLC awarded scholarships to six students to pursue their college education. The scholarship winners are Allan Stull, Brianna Seekford, Reagan Johnson, and Sydney Cave from Luray High School and Katharine Yoder and Jada Schutt from Page County High School. They have all graduated along with Imani Puller and Emily Martin, two of our teaching assistants. We wish them all great success in their college education.

2020

May: SD Solutions, LLC awarded scholarships to five students to pursue their college education. The scholarship winners are T Wright, T Gamble, N Hasmukh from Luray High School and M Ramey and A Markham from Page County High School. We wish them great success in their college education.

2019

December: Top 100 MBE Award from Capital Region Minority Supplier Diversity Council

August: SD Solutions, LLC is part of an Industry led cybersecurity workforce development research initiative by HBCUs. Our president was part of the group that presented the research report to the Honorable HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson.

2018

December: Top 100 MBE Award from Capital Region Minority Supplier Diversity Council

May: SD Solutions, LLC awarded scholarships to four students to pursue their college education. The number students receiving Scholarship Awards and Part-Time jobs from Rural Virginia increased to 30 since 2013.

January: The new curriculum shaped by Parents Against Depression (PAD) in collaboration with SD Solutions, LLC was taught at High Schools in Page County. The objectives are to spread awareness about depression, prevent suicides, and help save lives.

2017

June: Four deserving students have been selected to receive Annual Scholarship Awards with financial assistance towards their college tuition.

May: SD Solutions, LLC Team was nominated for innovation in K-12 Education Category at the Shenandoah Valley Tech Council (SVTC). Our team comprised of Patrick Graybeal (Employee), Eric Johnston (PCHS Math Teacher) and Kathy Chrisman (Supervisor) delivered innovative solutions on multiple formats to enrich classroom teaching experience. We are looking forward to strengthening our ongoing collaboration since 2013 with Donna Whitley-Smith (Superintendent) and Eric Benson (Director of Instruction) at Page County Schools, VA towards expanding educational and professional opportunities for students.

May: SD Solutions, LLC has been nominated as the US Treasury Department Small Business Prime of the Year – FY 2016 by the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Unit (OSDBU) for exceptional work as a Prime Contractor at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

March : SD Solutions, LLC’s President, Mr. Balaji Venkatesan, was nominated as the SBA’s Small Business Person of the Year for the State of Virginia for accomplishments in several categories including SD Solutions LLC’s work in the Rural Communities.

2016

November: SD Solutions LLC sponsored a program in partnership with Page County Public Schools and Parents Against Depression Inc (PAD) to bring educational sessions to our community. Page Alliance and Luray-Page Chamber of Commerce also assisted with this program.

The 3 presentations from PAD were delivered to Page County High School seniors, Luray High School seniors and then an evening program for all citizens. The passionate delivery by the founders of PAD sharing years of research to help arm our youth and their families with information about depression was well received. July: SD Solutions, LLC brought students and staff from high schools in Page County, VA (a desginated HUBZone), invited leaders in Cybersecurity (CISO/ISSO/SME) and conducted Virginia Cyber Camp 2016 in Washington, DC. It is a Governor McAulliffe’s initiative to support challenged divisions in Virginia and SD Solutions, LLC was proud to sponsor/conduct this event to benefit the students and staff.
