Opportunity Overview

SD Solutions seeks a Facilities Space Management Lead to join our team to support facilities management activities for DHS (Department of Homeland Security) locations. The ideal candidate will have facility, engineering, architecture and space management experience in representing the DHS program's interest with regard to leasing and owned portfolio projects. This includes end-to-end space management and customer service to ensure space requirements are met in an efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing documents, estimates, specs and drawings appropriate to the leased and owned portfolios including Space Request Packages, SF-81, Reimbursable Work Authorizations (RWA), and Occupancy Agreements; communication and facilitation of approvals through DHS.
  • Assist the Program Offices with identifying and translating mission requirements to space requirements.
  • Analyze processes, workflow, and operational concept to determine facilities requirements.
  • Analyze request for new space and GSA (General Services Administration) proposals.
  • Assess space requirements against space allocation criteria to include space utilization criteria.
  • Develop project documentation and cost estimates for Program Offices.
  • Prepare status reports for Program Offices.
  • Support and/or Track Prospectus Lease Development and/or submissions.
  • Ensure documents meet DHS, GSA and the Customer requirements.
  • Review Prospectus Cost Estimates, and information needed for GSA approval.
  • Participate as Technical Representative for DHS Liaison with GSA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university in the field of Engineering or Architecture.
  • Five (5) years of experience managing programs/projects similar to DHS.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience with managing facility projects with specialized mission requirements; experience with planning, design and construction; developing and reviewing architectural, interior design and engineering plans, specifications and cost estimates.
  • Experience developing space plans, furniture plans, assessing and managing space requests/requirements against space allocation and utilization criteria.
  • Possess a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent institution; or Professional Engineer (PE) license or Architectural Registration (license).
  • Familiarity with a RPMS (Real Property Managment System) program to track real property.
